The city of Kerrville is asking for public input by taking their survey on the city’s 2050 Comprehensive Plan.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO LIVE IN THE CITY LIMITS IN ORDER TO TAKE THE SURVEY.

So that you understand its importance, when a city adopts one of these ‘plans,’ EVERY policy decision must be consistent with that plan. So if the survey calls for public transit, more sidewalks, dedicated bus and bike lanes, and cheaper housing for workers, those initiatives get rolled into their comprehensive plan, all city streets will be conformed to that plan.

Mention what you think about mass transit and walkability.

Both ‘Mass Transit’ and ‘Walkability’ are code for the Left’s anti-car initiatives to take away parking, road space and normal speed limits and replace them with more stop lights, slower speed limits and; less road space to make way for bus and bike lanes. Big and little cities all over Texas have already fallen prey to this, and you can hardly drive your car without interference in those places. Look what it did to the streets of D.C. and Houston. You can’t hardly make turns and you get stuck going straight city block after city block before you’re allowed to make a right or left turn.

The Left’s ‘traffic calming’ measures that the city wants to adopt and make policy for our streets, elevates travel by bike, bus or on foot as the priority over travel by car. Look into 15 minute cities agenda and you’ll see it all laid out.

It’s the ultimate in government control of your life — think pandemic lockdowns for good.

Ask the city to prioritize roads and police over nice-to-have things like an extension of the river trail system and new parks. People over animals and recreation. Remember, ‘affordable housing’ and ‘workforce’ initiatives are code for government subsidized housing*  and socialist labor policy. We don’t need more tinkering and government social engineering, we need to lower the overall cost of living by lowering the tax burden, and shrinking government to help elevate everyone – young, old, families, workers, retirees.

(* Housing is subsidized presumably to bring in workers, but by raising the overall tax burden to pay for the cheaper housing for a few, it makes the cost of living that much more out of reach for young workers and ends up NOT solving the problem, but makes it worse)

IF CONSERVATIVES DO NOT FLOOD THE CITY WITH PRO-TAXPAYER, PRO-CAR, PRO-FREE MARKET FEEDBACK, GUESS WHO WILL?

The Lefties, environmentalists, and developers who want all this stuff at YOUR expense.
