Suffice it to say, we all remain shell-shocked by the events on Friday morning. Those early hours changed lives in many ways and our prayers go out for those that lost loved ones. There are no words, only God’s peace that surpasses all understanding…

We are encouraged by how our community has stepped up to help! Here are resources to access volunteer opps, donate, and get help to those that need it. In the weeks to come, we will attempt to keep this list updated in our weekly emails.

FEMA, SBA and the State of Texas to Open Disaster Recovery Center in Kerrville

In coordination with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), FEMA and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) staff have opened a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) to offer face-to- face help to survivors affected by the severe storms, straight-line winds and flooding that began July 2.

Homeowners, renters and eligible non-residents in Kerr County may receive FEMA assistance for losses not covered by insurance.

FEMA and SBA will support state-led efforts at the recovery centers to help survivors apply for disaster assistance. They can also identify potential needs and connect survivors with local, state and federal agencies, as well as nonprofits and community groups.

The DRC will be open from 8 am – 7 pm daily.

        From the Governor’s Office…

Qualifying Texans in Kerr County are eligible for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Individual Assistance program. Additional counties may be added at a later date. Texans can apply for FEMA disaster assistance online at disasterassistance.gov or by calling 800-621-3362.

Officials continue to review disaster damage information self-reported by Texans through TDEM’s Individual State of Texas Assessment Tool (iSTAT) damage survey. When it is safe to do so, impacted Texans are encouraged to submit information about damage to homes or businesses by visiting damage.tdem.texas.gov. These details are vital to help officials identify impacted areas and connect Texans with resources.

        Be prepared for future needs…
