Voting for a “Write In” candidate in the November 5th, 2024 General Election in Kerr County, Texas
Paper Ballots
To vote for a Write In candidate, go to that office (or race) on your paper ballot, mark the box next to the words “Write In” and then write in the name of your desired candidate. There will be a list of declared write in candidates names on the voting cubicle wall.
Electronic Ballots
To vote for a Write In candidate using the electronic voting machine, go to the office (or race) you wish to vote for on the screen. Place a check mark in the box that says “Write In”, which will open a keyboard on the screen. This will allow you to type the name of the candidate you wish to vote for on the electronic ballot. The list of declared write in candidates names will be on the privacy screen attached to the electronic voting machine.
